gavel.jpgWelcome to patent, copyright, and lawsuit week at ShavingStuff.com. The holiday season has passed and no new products will be announced for a while, so to bide the time we'll focus on the darker side of business - lawsuits - or, as our PR people like to say, protecting intellectual property.

According to a German court, you just have to add another blade to a razor to be original. In this article from the Boston Business Journal:

The court said Wilkinson Sword GmBH's four-bladed Quattro razor does not infringe on Gillette's European patent for the three-bladed design. The court also ordered Boston-based Gillette to reimburse Energizer's court costs.

My advice, skip making the razors and just patent a 5-blade razor, a 6-blade, 7 - 10. That oughtta cover the foreseeable future.
