Gillette to be bought by Procter and Gamble
In a deal worth $55 billion dollars, Gillette has agreed to acquistion terms offered by consumer goods giant Procter and Gamble. As a local resident I'm stunned and saddened to see this Boston institution sell out, however never having been offered $55 billion, I can't quite say I'd act differently given the chance. News all over the radio and local papers has made sure to point out the estimated 6,000 jobs which will most likely be lost. Tough day for Gillette employes. Read more in this boston.com article.
