Celebrity Facial Hair Friday - Mel Gibson

mel-gibson-beard.jpgUm... is that really Mel Gibson? Indeed it is. You may remember Mel Gibson from such clean shaven roles as Mad Max, or Danny Glover's crazy partner in the Lethal Weapon movies. These days Mr. Gibson is sporting what I like to call "The Hussein". Why? Here's the skinny from the New York Times:

Mel Gibson, whose "The Passion of the Christ" was assailed by critics as an anti-Semitic passion play - and whose father has been on record as a Holocaust denier - has a new project under way: a nonfiction miniseries about the Holocaust.

Oh. OK. I get it. He needs to look the part of a concentration camp victim.

It is not expected that Mr. Gibson will act in the miniseries

Oh. OK. I don't get it. Why does he have that beard?

Feedback time! New segment in celebrity facial hair Friday - "Save it or Shave it!" I say shave it. Sound off in the comments.

He needs to keep it.
It's perfect for him, especially now that he has that evil looking Zappa and his parted hair and black suit, he truly looks evil, and it's a good look for him.
