Celebrity Facial Hair Friday - Jack White and Johnny Depp
Am I seeing double? Or does this Friday's celebrity facial hair segment contain two of my favorite stars? Hold on to your hats because this week we're featuring rocker Jack White of The White Stripes (pictured, hat), as well as actor Johnny Depp (pictured, hatless), both sporting similar shaves.
Jack White is a guitar-slinging front-man, and one half of the mold-breaking rock duo the White Stripes. And while he previously followed the clean shaven look, he's now a trend-setter in minimalist facial hair sculpture. Wispy moustache, slight soul patch, hint of gruff.
Johnny Depp is one of Hollywood's finest, known for his roles in Edward Scissorhands, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, and most recently Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny's current image appears to be inspired by his recent work in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Slightly fuller moustache, messy soul patch, and a two-pointed billy goat's gruff.
Pretty similar, don't you think? So what's the verdict ShavingStuff readers? Shave it or save it? I say save it... for now. A look as bold as this rarely stands the test of time. When it's hip, it's hip. When you see all your friends starting to imitate you, you'll know it's time for something new.

Regarding Johnny Depp's facial hair ~ He's grown the goatee out because he's filming a couple more of those pirate movies... you may have heard of them? I know, small time, indie flix are seldom heard about, but still... *rolls eyes*
Johnny's always been his own fashion critic. He's doesn't give a toss what anyone thinks about how he looks. Why should he start now? Personally, I think he's just fine the way he is. His talent and heart for people are what shine through whatever hair is growing (or not growing) on his face.
