Splitting Hairs - The documentary about the United States Beard and Moustache Team

splittingHairs.gifLadies and gentlemen, please let me introduce four members of the US Beard and Moustache team - Gary Johnson, Phil Olsen, Bruce Roe, and Gary Hagen. Mere mortals by day. Facial hair powerhouses by night. Learn their story at a cineplex near you.

Splitting Hairs is a documentary film that follows the United States Beard and Moustache Team through Europe as it prepares to take on the dominant Association of German Beard Clubs at the World Beard and Moustache Championships (WBMC).

The project combines elements of "Spellbound" and "Waiting for Guffman" with competitive facial hair cultivation to create an off-kilter story that spans 5 countries and two continents, culminating at the 2005 WBMC in Berlin.

Now if you didn't follow the World Beards (as the kids like to call it), don't worry, I won't spoil it for you. This film is sure to be a nail biter even if you know the outcome. So start that popcorn popping, and melt some butter. Splitting Hairs is currently in post-production and will be out "soon". I can only guess that means they're adding laser bolts and getting Jar Jar just right.
