Celebrity Facial Hair Friday - Jack Black
This week's Celebrity Facial Hair Friday pick is Jack Black, comedian, movie star, rock star. Jack is one half of the greatest band of all time - Tenacious D. (WARNING: The Tenacious D website is not suitable for browsing while at work, especially on computers with speakers.) And this Wednesday, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny opens in theaters nationwide - no doubt the greatest movie of all time. (The website for the movie Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny is a riot, and while marginally more suitable for work than the band website, really is the greatest website of all time. Click over and have a laugh.)
Jack is one of the few people in Hollywood who really seems to have fun with his facial hair. Whether it's the outrageous mustache in Nacho Libre, or the random beards in his various TV appearances, Jack's facial hair knows no bounds. For the Tenacious D movie Jack sports a little bit of scruff below the lip (and later a full beard). It's the perfect subtle touch to a not-so-subtle actor. When he's calm, the scruff reminds you he could explode at any moment. And when he's on, it makes him look like the devil. And we all know devil-worship is the soul of rock and roll. (Funny story - Jack and his partner Kyle once battled Satan and defeated him by playing the greatest and best song in the world. Unfortunately, they have since forgotten how to play it.)
I'd like to clear up one bit of constant confusion before we end this post. Jack Black the comedian is in no way related to Jack Black the men's grooming line. I get asked that question more often that you'd think. I'm sure Jack Black the company does too.
Well, there you have it. Jack Black is today's celebrity facial hair Friday pick, which makes this post the greatest celebrity facial hair Friday pick of all time.
