Review of Urth Travel Kit - Part Two

urth_shave-formula.jpgIf you missed yesterday's post, we're looking at the four items in the Urth Perfect Travel Kit. Yesterday we covered Urth Face Wash and Urth Scrub. Today we're talking about the remaining two items - Urth Shave Formula and Urth Face Balm.

Shavin' time! Can't touch this. Urth Shave Formula is a white... formula. I think that's a great word for it. It's certainly not a gel. It's not a paste. It's kind of a cream. And yet it's not as smooth as a cream. It's a "formula". And boy does it smell great. Key ingredients include

Soy, Safflower Oil, Lavender Oil, Menthol, Tea Tree Oil, Spearmint Oil, Bergamot Oil, Chamomile Extract, Ginseng Extract, White Tea Extract, Green Tea Extract.

Oh white tea... You'll be amazed at how little Urth Shave Formula you'll need. And if you've got a nice badger shave brush, you'll need even less. Urth Shave Formula doesn't exactly lather up, but it does seem to multiple itself like soap into a nice even coating on your beard. If you're thinking about making the switch to a brush, don't stick with your current stuff. Get Urth. It'll show you the power of the brush.

The shave with Urth Shave Formula is very good. It was rare that I got any sort of nick or cut, and there was a nice coating even after I did my first pass in case I needed to touch up any spots. Urth Shave Formula is white, and stays white. If you've read recent posts you'll know I've been liking clear shaving products recently, but I don't think that's a big strike against them. Personal preference. The only complaint I had about Urth was that when I was all done, occasionally there was the errant whisker or two which had somehow avoided my razor. This happens to all of us, but I felt like it happened one or two times more with Urth. I still recommend this stuff, but pay attention when shaving.

Urth Shave Formula is $22 for a 6oz tub, or get a 2oz mini tub in the Perfect Travel Kit ($59).

urth_face-balm.jpgThe last product in the Urth Perfect Travel Kit is Urth Face Balm.

Infuses hydrating nutrients & protect against harsh elements. White Tea & Spin Traps protect while Ginseng nourishes. A fusion of natural herbal extracts, pure essential oils & vitamins C-D-A enhances skin tone & texture.

All that and it's rated SPF 15. Love it. We've said it before and we'll say it again, you should be moisturizing with something which doubles as sunblock. You'll thank me for it later. Urth Face Balm has the classic white tea scent. Your face will love you for it. This is without question my favorite product in the Urth line. If you get nothing else, get Urth Face Balm. It's, dare I say, da bomb?

Urth Face Balm is $38 for a 4oz bottle, or get a 2oz mini bottle in the Perfect Travel Kit ($59).
