Reader Question about Edge brand ActiveCare

edgeActiveCare.gifShavingStuff reader Tim wrote in a while ago with a question about the quiet disappearance of Edge brand ActiveCare products. I totally spaced on this (blaming it on the arrival of our newborn son) and have found out nothing. I did check our local Target on a recent diaper run and confirmed Tim's observation. Here's his question:

I have a shaving related question that I can't get an answer for. I noticed this weekend that I was unable to buy the Edge brand ActiveCare shaving cream anymore. It is no longer stocked at Target, Stop and Shop or CVS in my area. Has this been pulled from the market. It seems that all the stores in my area have gone back to the gel in a can stuff. Was there news about this that I missed on your site? When the products launched there was tons of information and news about it, when it gets pulled it is done silently.

Anyone able to answer Tim's question? Are ActiveCare products still around? If anyone has any info feel free to post it in the comments or send me an email. Thanks. And sorry for taking so long to get back to you Tim.

I live in Canada, and Edge Active Care creams are still available here.

Since Edge is from the U.S, I guess the Active Care creams will disappear from the Canadian shelves too.

Here's another question for you. Why is menthol shaving cream (foam) so hard to find? Noxzema in the blue can was the best, but I haven't been able to find that for years. Now I am having a hard time finding the Barbasol brand as well. Is there some sort of issue with menthol? The other products I have attempted to use just done cut it (sorry for the pun!)

I agree with all who are pissed that SC Johnson discontinuedEdge Active Care in the tube. I have a beard so tough that If I do not shave, after a few days, I have to bite it off from the inside!

I have been e-mailing "Those People," me severe dissapointment. They finally e-mailed me and said that they were sending me a coupon and Edge Infusion, in a can, is available at Target.
Well, just today I went there with my new coupon and guess what? There is a God.
The Edge Infusion was there, and next to it, were new tubes of Active Care in the tube.

Now I do not know if these were left oveer in Target's warehouse, and I only had enough cash to buy two tubes, even using the coupon.
Every chance I get, I will stop at any Target I pass and but more tubes if they have them.
