The Rolling Razor - Is This The Future Of Shaving?
You might think there are a wide variety of razors out there, but in reality most are just variations on the same theme - knife on a stick. Earlier this year a new type of razor was introduced to the market which eschews the standard. Meet the Rolling Razor - two knives on a ring.
From the press release:
While the basic stick-style razor still has the same natural limitations from its inception over a century ago, the Rolling Razor has been engineered with an innovative ring shaped handle that gives the user superior control & maneuverability. With its unique double-headed, triple convex cartridges, the Rolling Razor is designed to stay in close contact with the skin whether the user is shaving a flat or a curved area.
That's right - "double-headed, triple convex cartridges" means six blades on the razor. Take that five-bladed Fusion!
There's a cool video demo on the Rolling Razor website which shows how it works. You'll also find more styles and colors than the new line of iPod Nanos. "Desert Camouflage", "Reef Girl", and "Sahara Adventure" are just a few of the models available on their website.
Now of course the Rolling Razor needs its own special razor blades, but I what find very cool is that the blades are rated on a gentle verses close shave scale. Meaning, if you have get ingrown hairs and razor bumps, get the Bump Eliminator cartridges. You won't get a super-close shave, but you also won't break out in razor bumps and irritation. If you have sensitive skin, get the Sensitive Skin cartridges. And if you've a face for punishment, get the Regular cartridges and shave as close as you want. How refreshing. After four years of writing about shaving I still have no idea what the difference is between Gillette Fusion razor blades and Gillette Fusion Power razor blades.
The Rolling Razor is $14.95, and for the moment you get a free "Designer Holding Base" when you order now. Blades start at $7.95 for a pack of 4. Different models and razors for men and women. Click on over and check it out.
