Close Shave - A Photographer's Study Of Shaving
We first learned about Kent Waddington and his photographic treatise on shaving two years ago. At that time Kent had four years of shaving photo essays under his belt and was starting to get some recognition for his shaving work.
Well, we're pleased to report that Kent is still going strong, and he's back with a new website, his first series of a woman shaving (her legs, cheeky monkeys), and a book!
After a very long delay, we are pleased to announce the launch of Close SHAVE - the website for your viewing pleasure. Contained within our many pages of cyberspace you will find dozens of colour and black & white images taken from our ongoing shave series which started about seven years ago. Throughout that time we have worked with models, wanna-be-models and non-models, in private and in public spaces both in North America and Europe.
Back in 2006 I described the site as guilt-free shaving porn. But that's selling it short. While there are a lot of people shaving in odd public places, there are also the touching moments where a shave is a symbol of something much larger. For example, John and Peter shows a moment we hope never to have to experience - a son shaving his hospitalized father.
Keep up the great work Kent! We look forward to seeing what comes next.
