15% Off Billy Jealousy's Fuzzy Logic Shampoo From BuzzSkin

How's that other hair on your head? Not the stuff you shave (at least, not all of us shave it), but the stuff on the top. You taking care of that?

We actually got an early bottle of BIlly Jealousy's Fuzzy Logic Shampoo way back in May of last year when it came out, and we promptly went right through it. Here's a link to our review which prompted the now legendary "Hey, you smell good." comment from shavingstuff wife.

Want to smell good too? Enter promo code "buzzoff15" when you check out at BuzzSkin and you'll feel good as well. You got until the end of the month.

Shed My Coat from Remington

Here's a cute site from Remington called ShedMyCoat.com featuring fun Flash where you can shave the back of one hairy gent. See the picture above? That's my personalized touch. Not bad eh?

Also at shedmycoat.com is the Remington Man-O-Scope, where you answer a few questions about your grooming habit and they tell you what your sign is. Apparently I'm a "groomophobe". I demand a recount!

So you have a bit of an aversion to grooming. This deep-seated issue may be caused by a lack of time, desire to be considered "manly" or a general confusion as to how to proceed with appropriate trimming and shaving. You're not alone. Guy's guys like Vince Vaughn, Jack Black and Big Ben Rothlisberger are in your category.

They recommended the Remington High Precision Personal Groomer to solve my grooming woes. Oddly enough, there was no link on the page to buy one. Don't these guys know about capitalism?

Gillette Introduces First Nuclear-Powered Razor

theSpoof.jpgPretty funny article from TheSpoof.com entitled Gillette Introduces First Nuclear-Powered Razor. I almost wish the website were a little more subtly named. This would fool a bunch of people.

"Once you've gone to three blades, the nuclear option is inevitable," said Carl Thomas, a spokesman for Procter & Gamble, which bought Gillette for $57 billion in 2005. "We could sit back while podunk powers like Pakistan develop nuclear razors, or we could get out in front by seizing the first-mover advantage and other business magazine cliches."

Definitely worth a click and a chuckle. Glad to see that we have an Under Assistant Secretary of Men's Toiletries in Washington these days.

Pimp My Shave from King of Shaves

It's about time someone took shaving to the street. King of Shaves is kicking it old-school with Pimp My Shave, a website a la Am I Hot or Not, but for the pimpin' shaving underground.
If you look in the mirror after a fresh shave and think to yourself, “I should be getting paid to look this good!” just remember that you can and you should! Whip out the digital, snap a shot, and click here to upload your images. Let us be the judge whilst soliciting the jeers of haters nationwide. Please note that King of Shaves urges those haters to stop hating, and start cooperating by also submitting their photos.

Judging by the photos which are up there now, you've got plenty of chances to win. Um hello? Where's the guy who's installed a PSP is his beard? I saw them put a Playstation in an old VW Bug on Pimp My Ride so I know it can be done.

Prizes include $100 vouchers to shave.com, and the mac daddy of pimpin' shaves gets a trip for two to New York, hotel, Knicks tickets and "an 'unwinding session' at the famous Paul Molé Barber Shop." You may need to provide your own satin suit, diamond tipped cane, and grill.

Accessorize at the Nashville Knife Shop

nashvilleknifeshop.jpgA couple month ago I received the Dad's Old Time Razor Set from the Nashville Knife Shop. At first I was psyched to try this set, which includes a badger brush, brush and razor stand, Muehle-Pinsel Shaving Soap with Aloe, and a safety razor and razor blade. As time went by I realized this set was going to expose me as a fraud. I have no experience shaving with a real razor. My life has been confined to cartridges and electronics. And any straight razor which has touched my face has been in the able hands of a trained professional.

Alas, I have not used the safety razor. But I have used everything else.

badgerBrush.gifFirst off - badgers rule. Do yourself a favor and get a badger-hair brush. The one included in the set is awesome. The Nashville Knife Shop has several individual shaving brushes for you to choose from, ranging in price from $29.99 to $395.00. The low-end badger hair ones will work just fine for you.

brushAndRazorStand.gifSecond, you're going to need a stand. Don't skimp out here and ignore this. You want your brush to dry upside down so that the water can fall out. The Nashville Knife Shop has brush stands from $3.95 to $24.95. Personal preference as to what you want. The $3.95 one looks, well, like it costs $3.95. I like the simplicity of this $19.95 one or this (pictured) $24.95 one which also has a slot for your razor.

Now, if you're a Gillette/Schick razor man, you can stop right here. But if you're old-school straight or "safety" razor, click on over the Nashville Knife Shop's razor selection and feast you eyes on these beauties. My advice if you're looking for a recommendation on a straight-razor or shaving soap is to head on over to LeisureGuy's guide to the gourmet shaving experience and see what he has to say. The man is a review machine. He puts me to shame.

On top of all of this, the Nashville Knife Shop also has knives. Who knew? Cutlery, sporting, hunting, even Swiss Army knives. If it needs cutting, you're sure to find a blade for the job.

WholeMan - Body Maintenance for Men

ShavingStuff reader "Mr M Evans" wrote in recently to tell us about his great experience at WholeMan, a store in London specializing in "body maintenance for men". Says Bob Ager, Chairman of WholeMan:
We have scoured the world to bring you the very best in men's grooming, with products from established companies as well as smaller, more specialist brands.

So if you're in London, head on over to WholeMan at 67 New Bond Street where not only do they have the storefront (pictured above), but also a full-services spa. And if you're not in London (but still in the UK), click on over to www.wholeman.co.uk where you can browse virtually. (Do they still use that word anymore?) Tons of shaving products from high-quality brands like Baxter of California, REN, MenScience, Jack Black, and Lab Series, and many that I've never even heard of before.

Beauty Swap Shop

beautySwapShop.gifJust got word of a new site Beauty Swap Shop from its founder Fiona Costello.

beautyswapshop aims to provide a specialist beauty exchange site for women and men. With free membership and no hidden costs, busy onliners will find a friendly forum in which to swap their favourite beauty tips.

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to buy, sell and exchange your beauty products and advertise your jobs and services within the industry.

While the site is only about 2 months old, there's already a decent amount of discussion happening at the (free) forums. Couple of hair-removal posts, mostly related to women, like this one on ingrown hairs or this one on bikini lines. Me? I heading over to the Ugly Betty discussion. OMG can you believe Salma Hayek totally used Daniel? Love it!

This Just In - Maine Shave

maineShave.gifJust received a big shipment of products from Maine Shave. For him they sent Natural Gentle Daily Facial Cleanser, All-Natural Intensive Moisturizing Shaving Cream, Natural Daily Toner, Natural Daily Gentle Facial Moisturizer. For her they sent All-Natural Intimate Shaving Cream and a couple Pink Bikini Razors. Naturally, we can't wait to get our skin on these. Sensing a theme here?

Our all-natural products are beneficial to both men and women. Simple, safe and easy to use, Maine Shave products contain only the finest natural ingredients and are derived from plants and 100% natural blends of botanical extracts. And best of all, Maine Shave's natural ingredients are nourishing and beneficial to all skin types.

Now don't think being natural means they've had to sacrifice efficacy. Ever been to Maine? In the winter? It's nature at its most unforgiving.

[Maine's] biting cold winter, and the locals’ year-round passion for everything outdoors can rough up skin. That's why we created the Maine Shave Ritual for Men and the Maine Shave Total Body Care System for Women. It's everything you need to pamper and protect your skin from start to finish.

So it sounds to me like I need to take a little winter vacation to really appreciate this product. Maybe a little downhill skiing, some ice-fishing, snowmobiling. Oh, the things I do for this blog... We'll have our review soon. In the meantime, click on over to Maine Shave and see what they've got for yourself.
