Panasonic Offering New Top of the Line Electric Razors

PanasonicES-LV81-K.jpgPanasonic goes after the premium electric shaver market with two new razors:

"The Panasonic Arc5(TM) shavers (models ES-LV81-K and ES-LV61-A) both employ five hypo-allergenic stainless steel Nanotech(TM) blades that are micro-polished and honed to sharp, 30-degree angles. Contributing to a smoother shave is a newly-developed Lift-Tech Foil(TM) that comfortably lifts and guides stubble closer to the blade while the ergonomic Multi-Flex(TM) Pivoting Head easily maneuvers around tough areas, such as the jaw line and under the chin. The combination of the blades' design and generously-sized pivoting head reduce pressure on the skin by dispersing contact over a larger area thereby decreasing the average pressure on the face by 13.2 percent. The result is not just a more comfortable shave, but shaving time is reduced by approximately one-third compared to a conventional shaver."

Electric Shavers Tested by Consumer Reports

electricshavercloseup.jpg

How does a guy know which electric razor to buy? One way to know is to look at the results of testing, such as the recent Consumer Reports electric shaver testing:

"Whether guys go for that rough and scraggy look or the smooth, suave appearance of a debonair actor, keeping up with facial hair can be a chore. Making the task even more complex: The range of electric razors--from cheap $10 models to others that cost more than 20 times as much! To find out which shavers really cut "as smooth as a razor," Consumer Reports uses an interesting item: Sandpaper."

Shaving with the ring on your finger

ringshaver1.jpg

How would you like to shave just by running your finger over your face?

That's the idea of the 'Ring Shaver', a concept razor from designers Xiang Qin, Yin Qin, Yiyan Ge & Xinxin Sun. No word on when such a product might appear on the market, but it certainly shows how some designers are really thinking outside of the box.

Hot Deal: Panasonic ES8243A Arc IV Nano Rechargeable Razor

panasonicNanotech.jpgReady to replace that old electric razor with something a little more up to date? Sure, there's the ultimate shaving gadget, but if you're also looking to save some serious cash on this purchase, check out this hot deal at Amazon:

"Nanotechnology was used to polish the industry's sharpest 30-degree blades to achieve even better cutting performance. This razor's expanded cutting surface not only provides an efficient shave, but it also spreads the pressure, which naturally occurs when applying the shaver to the skin, so users have found it to perform without the irritation found on lesser models. The fourth finishing blade provides an additional cutting opportunity not found on triple-blade shavers. In addition, the foils and blades on this razor are "arced" so they nestle gently into the skin for our closest shave ever. The foil glides evenly for uniform shaving on all surfaces of the face."

Electric Razors and the End of America

depressionwork.jpg

"The first electric razor was patented in 1928. About six months later, the Great Depression hit. This is not a coincidence.

From the moment Col. Jacob Schick decided that electricity was necessary for men to shave their faces, the nation's fate was sealed. Because once American manufacturers realized they could sell Americans products that simply have no function or value, the entire economy was doomed.

Electric razors are one of the great breakthroughs in marketing history. Simply put, electric razors don't work. They've never worked. They never will work. You'll get an equally close shave from a pickle."
