A new survey sponsored by Gillette finds 57% of those in the UK are irritated every single day of the year.
57% of those surveyed admit to feeling irritated every day, and research revealed that it's their fellow countrymen that are actually causing them to be annoyed. The top irritations? They can't stand other people being rude to them, people's lack of hygiene, and poor customer service.
"The trappings of Modern Day living can also bring irritation into our lives, causing many of us unwanted stress. When technology fails it really gets on our nerves with the population ranking broken phones (22%) and computers (30%) as more irritating than a car breaking down (18%) - suggesting we as a country are relying too heavily on our technology."
The release of the survey marks the launch of Gillette's new 'Irritation Defense' range, which is said to help defend against five signs of shaving irritation, something that affects 82% of men worldwide every day.
According to the survey, morning is the worst time. Out of the 3,000 people surveyed nearly ¾ of them admit to being at their worst between 7 and 9 am.
"People are most irritable in the morning because the brain is waking up and subconsciously setting out a plan for the day, if things don't go according to this plan it upsets the balance of the brain which can lead to irritation and stress!" - Jo Hemmings, behavioural psychologist
The strangest annoyances revealed in the survey tend to be observational irritations regarding modern day living in the UK with things like skinny jeans and organic food listed amongst their bugbears.
Want to personally congratulate Derek Jeter on his latest milestone? Gillette is making it happen:
New York Yankee star Jeter has long been a pitch-man for Gillette, the Boston-based razor-blade brand. So Gillette has decided to pay tribute to Jeter on the occasion of his 3,000th career hit, something Jeter did in a ball game on Saturday. In honor of this grand event, Gillette has placed 15-foot-tall congratulatory card in New York's Grand Central Station.
For today only, Jeter fans can join Gillette in saluting the Yankee star. Thanks to Gillette's use of social media, fans can submit a tweet using the hashtag #GilletteJeterCard or they can post a message to Gillette's Facebook page.
And if you happen to be in NYC, you can show up Grand Central Station and sign the card yourself.
"In summer, we spread the towels in parks, next to lakes, rivers, at outdoor swimming pools and on green areas, all around Germany. As soon as the towels were placed on grass, the grass stalks sprout out of the holes. It aroused people's attention, and prompted them to shave."
BBDO Germany created this campaign for Gillette in Europe - does it make you want to buy a razor? Or simply take one of these towels home with you?

Gillette is using identical twins, one with whiskers and one without, to find out how people feel about facial hair:
"The campaign from Gillette features identical twins Dean and George Georgiades, one of whom is clean shaven while the other has a beard. It sets them task to see which the general public prefers.
The experiment will be documented and shown online, mainly via Twitter through Gillette's profile. The twins will tackle challenges such as discovering whether shop assistants are more helpful to the bearded or not, and a pasta-eating competition."
The results depend on which twin has the most followers on Twitter: either @georgiogeo or @dino_geo.
