Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

shavingderby.jpg"Use the Magnet to Attract the Razor to Shave the Face!"

That's the description for one of the weirdest games I've ever seen: Magnetic Shaving Derby.

The magnet follows your touch around the screen. The razor is drawn towards the magnet. Cut hairs with the razor whilst trying not to nick your eyes, nose and mouth.

Popping a pimple will temporarily reverse the magnet's polarity, causing the razor to be repelled.

Make good use of the multiplier, powerups and scoring system for MASSIVE POINTS!

This wacky game for iPhones and iPads is available for free, so head over to iTunes and check it out!

My Shaving Kit - A Foam Book for Kids

MyShavingKit.jpgHere's a cute little infant book for the young shaver-to-be in your life. It's My Shaving Kit - a foam book from Innovative Kids with pop-out pieces like a can of shaving cream and an old-school razor. The book is four pages long and has six foam pop-outs, including a comb, brush, toothpaste and toothbrush. Each foam piece is uniquely shaped so the book doubles as a simple puzzle. And while we're really all about shaving creams and gels, we'll make an exception for shaving foam just once.

My Shaving Kit foam book is $3.32.

Fake Mustaches for $2.62

fakeMustaches.jpg
Halloween is coming up and you may need a fake mustache to complete your costume. Or as the case may be you may need a dozen. Good thing DealExtreme.com has you covered with two each of six different styles - "The Smarty", "The Rogue", "The Scoundrel", "The Casanova", "The Partyboy", and last, and perhaps least, "The Bandit". For only $2.62, that's a hard bargain to pass up. Mustache Day at the office, anyone?

My Daddy Is Scratchy

JamieBroza.jpg
In the mood for kids music with a shaving theme? Look no further than Jamie Broza's seminal work from 2005 - My Daddy Is Scratchy. You know why your daddy is scratchy? Because he's not getting a good shave. I suggest reading the ShavingStuff reviews and finding a new set of products.

In the meantime, listen to the first two tracks -"Grow A Beard?" and "My Daddy Is Scratchy", which you can preview on Amazon or iTunes. The rest are pure kid. "I Met A Vegetable I Didn't Like", "I Get Really Mad", "Stop It Dad You're Embarrassing Me". All classics. And so true.

"Shaving in the Tub" from Alex Toys

alexShavingTub.jpg
I know I already blogged about this back in November of 2005, but I ran across it in a toy store yesterday and it was like discovering it again for the first time. And for all you folks who started reading ShavingStuff recently and haven't trolled through the archives, this will be new to you.

It's "Shaving in the Tub" from Alex Toys.

How about lathering up for a nice shave? Shaving set comes with a 7 oz. can of Foaming Body Soap, plastic play razor, shaving brush, comb and an unbreakable, child-safe mirror. It's good clean fun!

Don't worry. "Shaving in the Tub" doesn't have a real razor it in, although they would be wise to create a powered version of their plastic play razor. Also, "Shaving in the Tub" won the iParenting Media Award, Parents Magazine - Best Toys of the Year 2004. Plus it's so darn cute. Look at that little guy! What great technique.

"Shaving in the Tub" is available on Amazon for $8.60. One thing to know if you click through - there's some broken HTML on the page, so to get to the "add to shopping cart" button you need to scroll to the right a ways. That threw me for a minute.

"Shave the Whales" - The 4th Dilbert Book

shaveTheWhales.jpgOK, this probably doesn't have much to do with shaving, but I just came across the fourth Dilbert book "Shave the Whales" from 1994 and had a good laugh. If anyone doesn't know where the original inspiration for the British or American versions of The Office comes from, it's here. The movie Office Space also owes much to Scott Adams' satirical commentary on the workplace. Sadly, twelve years later these jokes still ring true.

You don't have to buy the book to read it. Click on over to Amazon and then click the image of the book title to get into "Explore this book" mode. You can page through most of the book online.

Does Your 5-Year-Old Have a 5 O'Clock Shadow?

"Dad... when I grow up I want to be just like you."

Aww. Isn't that sweet. What junior doesn't know is he'll need a full-time job, a house, food on the table, and a quiet room to escape it all, where no one can disturb him. NO ONE. But I digress.

Here's something junior can look forward to - the daily meditation known as shaving. Your 10 minutes of calm and clarity as you spend some you-time.

And that's where Shaving Kit by Alex comes in.

How about lathering up for a nice shave? Shaving set comes with a 7 oz. can of Foaming Body Soap, plastic play razor, shaving brush, comb and an unbreakable, child-safe mirror. It's good clean fun!

$9.98 plus shipping at toy2wish4.com. I know what I would wish for if I were a kid again...
